CERMAN PRIZE CREW SURPRISED.

amd sent it to Zeebrugge. British destroyers learnt of the a«t, and overtook the Oldamlet and made prisoner the prize crew. The Germans put hombs in the engineroom. It ig unknown whether the Oldamlet was sunk.

The High Commissoner reports:— The Admiralty reports that the euemy captured the Dutch steamer Oldamlet on the night of the Ist hist., near the North Hinterlight vessel., At dawn our scouting craft overtook the vessel, in charge of a prize crew.who attempted to blow her up. They took to boats, with the ship's crew. The prize crew of ten were overtaken and made- prisoners. Five German destroyers were engaged and driven off. We towed the Oldamlet to the Hook of Holland.

The Oldamlet which was beached near the Hook of Holland has capsized and her cargo is washing out.

Official—On the nights of November 1 and 2 German light sea forces from Flanders stopped and examined several steamers on the London-Hol-land route, and took two suspicious vessels to harbour. The third, which was ordered to follow, has not yet arrived.

The English cruisers unsuccessfully shelled some of our torpedo boats.
