NOTES. The New Zealand Cup has boon won upon ten occasions by horses of four years of age, eight times by three-year-olds, seven times by seven-year-olds, six times by aged horses, and four times by five-year-olds. The dead heat of Warstep and Indigo, two years ago, is counted as a, win to each.

L. H. Hewitt, who will have the mount on Snub in the New Zealand Cup, has already won that event, twice being up on Grand Rapids and Noctuiform when those horses won the big prize two years in succession for the late G. G. Stead. Luke Wilson, who will ride Indigo, also has two previous wins to his credit, having beaten the field on Downfall in 1908 and on Midnight Sun in 1912. J. O’Shea, who will ride Balboa, rode Warstep in 191.4 when she dead-heat-ed with Indigo. B. Dooley rode "ViceAdmiral to victory in 1911. and he will be up on Mullingar on Saturday.
