The weather was line for training at Riccarton. Most of the work was done on the inside. Chakwana, outside the course proper, ran six furlongs in 1.16 1-5. Snub went a mile and a half, with Wardancer over the last ten of the full, distance, in 2.35 3-5,. and finished well.' Adjutant beat Flying Start over seven furlongs in 1.30. Elation beat Devotion over the same distance in 1.32 2-5. Splendant and Greenstreet ran six in 1.17. Disdainful covered a mile in 1.41 2-o. Nones ran a mile on the plough, the last seven furlongs taking 1.29 2-5. Chortle -beat Multiplication over half a mile in 48 2-5. Indigo and Sedd el Bahr beat Marco Bello at a mile run in 1.43. Rorke’b Drift beat John Batleyebru over a mile and a-quarter .UU- 2.i2;- Marc Anthony was better tKan : Mullingar at the end of a mile and a-quarter run in 2.10 4-5. Panmure befit' Sea Lord over six furlongs on the plough in 1.17 3-5. Fiery Cross brought home by Slogan ran a mile and a half, the last ten furlongs taking 2.10 1-5. Ringform alone ran a mile and a-quarter on the plough in 2.15. Merry Roe beat Bleriot over six furlongs on the plough in 1.16. Multiply covered a mile on the plough inPaitßfEß® HWtflhis ran six furlongs in 1.16 2-5. Findhorn beat MargeHfie ovTDUSIfc furlongs in 1.17. Merchnikoff (Dive up on bis back) tonkin 2-5. Kaminohe and Peronilla ran six' in 1.16‘2--SU.R Egypt easily beat Tete-a-tete over six furlongs in 1.15 2-5. .Desert Gold alone with a light weight up ran a mile in 1.39 4-5. A number of two-year-olds worked most down the : straight. Biplane easily heat Immortelle over half-a-mi.hu Hymestra was going comfortably with two companions., . Vagabond, Veimellion, and Lingerie finished together. Claverhouse went full speed Ironi round the turn in 48 2-5, Where and Estland doing it in 47 3-5. Montana, Ardenvhor, Rose . Pink, Balboa, and Ladify did steady work.
