Weather Forecast.—The indications are- for, jvpftterlv winds strong to gale and backing by west to soijth. The .weather appears to be cloudy and unsettled with rain following. The barometer has a falling tendency, bub rising after about twenty boms. * Bates, Wellington.

Owing to counter attractions and the inclement weather, there- was only a small gathering at the meeting of the Farmers’ Union this afternoon, and the same yas adjourned for six weeks, notice of which will be given later, Mr R. A. Browne, Agricultural Director under the Taranaki Education Board, was present, and briefly outlined his scheme *of giving instnictionto farmers on agricultural matters, advocating the continuance of personally visiting farmers ou their farms, which practice had been so successful in South Taranaki. Ihe gathering much appreciated Mr Browne’s informal talk, all recognising that he was a practical and not a theoretical instructor in all matters associated with agriculture.
