PERSONAL.
The death has occurred n London of Mr Allison Smith, formerly of the railway service in New Zeeland, and subsequently locomotive superintendent of the Victorian railways.
Mr Hugh Kearns died at Otakebo on Tuesday. Ho was a very old resident of the Waimate Plains, having resided on the Tikatu road for over thirty years. He was a brother of Mrs A. O’Donnell, Inaha, and of Mr James 'Kearns, Otakeho.
