MINISTERS AT HOME.
MASSEY-WARD RECEPTION. IN THE ROYAL PRESENCE. j Press Association—Copyright, Austra. lian and N.Z. Cable Association. London, October 24. Six h/mdred people attended the New Zealand reception given to Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward at the Hotel Cecil. The High Commissioners and Agents-General were present. Mr Massey, in thanking those pre-. sent for their welcome, expressed his appreciation of what Anglo-New Zealanders had done for the Dominion troops, especially in regard to the sick and wounded, and also the way they had kept New Zealand's prestige up in the Old Country. 'He briefly outlined what the Dominion had done in the war, and added: "Whenever and wherever the war will end, New Zealand will be there. New Zealand is able to go on doing what she has clone for quite a long time." The national Government* had worked smoothly, and the mission whereon Sir Joseph Ward and he came represented a united New Zealand. Sir Joseph Warfi also expressed his thanks, and said he believed tha; whatever might bo the opinion in England, there was no doubt that after the war they must create machinery co-ordinate with the interests of the Empire. Mr Massey -and Sir Joseph Ward attended the Privy Council, the King presiding. The King afterwards gave an audience to both Mr Massey and Sir Joseph Ward, who will attend a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
