WHANGAMOMONA COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of tha Wluiafairomona County Council was held on Monday, when there were present Crs J. McClnggage (chairman), A. Coyne, T., R. Mounsev, H. McLeod, M. O'Neill, H. Cleland, and M. Geever. Cr. MeCutchan w.ote regretting his inability to be present. WHANGAMOMONA ROAD BRIDGE. 'On the mSl'ioii. of Cr. McCluggage, seconded 4 by.^Cr.. CJeever, it, was resolved that Mr Robinson be asked to submit plans of this bridge to the Public Works Department for a subsidy. VOTE OF THANKS. On the motion of Cr. McCluggage, seconded by Cr. O'Neill, it was resolved that votes of thanks be accorded Crs. Geever and Coyne for jtheir services as a deputation to the Minister, of Public Works when at [New Plymouth, and Mr II Okey, M.P., for his assistance. WHANGAMOMONA ROAD. A deputation, consisting of Mr W/Bacon and others, waited on the Council asking for repairs to the Whaugamornona road, and stating that the thirds accruing on the 12ft i ° portion: of* be not;'spent in t maintenance. They also asked for a subsidy in respect of a public telephone, to-'Tahimaroa. ! On the motion of Cr; McCluggage, seconded by Cr. O'Neill, it was resolved that Mr Robinson (engineer) be asked to submit-details and proposals of expenditure (already mado under bis supervision on account of Putikituma Road loan for road work and bridges totalling £39.3 Is lOd) to the Resident Engineer of Public Works Department and generally explain the position. On the motion of Cr. Geever, seconded by Cr. Coyne, it was resolved that the overseer interview the Resident Engineer as to the procedure to be adopted for obtaining subsidy on loans. . Cr. Geever moved, and Cr. Mounsev seconded, that the settlers on Putikituma Road loan area be asked to pledge their thirds to repair the damage done to the Kolmratahi road by carting metal in lieu of taking 50 yards of metal. The Counties' Association forwarded counsel's opinion ro limit of overdraft.—Resolved that the Clerk write; to the Bank of Australasia pointing |out that Mr T. F. Martin's opinion is that Government subsidy is ordinary revenue, and asking that the limit of overdraft be increased by £SOO. TENDERS. Putikituma road metal.-Resolved on the motion of Cr. McCluggage. seconded by Cr. McLeod. that Robinson and Neilson's tender be accepted for 750 cubic yards subject to approval of Public Works Department, to plans and also to promise of Department to provide s ~ for £ subsidy on £ISOO loan, such subsidy to be paid by the Department and payable if circumstances so require on past loan expenditure, the loan and subsidy totalling £3OOO. UPPER MANGAEHU ROAD. It was resolved that tenders for Upper Mangaehu road bridge be called for and be dealt with by Strathmore Riding members. GENERAL. It was resolved that A. Bray bo paid half pay whilst incapacitated and that the amount be deducted from insurance moneys. Tenders are to be invited for supply of dog collars to close in a week. I ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £384 10s 4d were passed for payment.
