Cable Association. (Received 10.15 a.m.) London, October 24. General Haig reports: We secured yesterday's gains at Gueudecourt and Les Boeufs. Concerning the enemy's claim that we lost heavily over Saturday's gains, it is noteworthy that we made prisoners of 1000, and had only 1200 casualties. ALLIED CAINS MAINTAINED. The High Commissioner reports:— London, October 24 (12.25 p.m.) A British official message states:— At Gueudecourt andy Les Boeufs, our gains of 1000 yards of trenches to the eastward have been fully secured. During the night there has been mutual intermittent shelling. Our "-aius at Schwa ben Redoubt and Le Sars cost us 1200 casualties, while we took prisoners 1000 of the enemy.
