PERSONAL.
After being stationed at Stratford for live years Constable McCowah banes on November 1 for Raetihi, where lie will have charge of that country station. Mr J. Masters has received a cablegram from his "son, Dick, now at Brockenhurst Military Hospital, stating that he is progressing satisfactorily. Mrs R. Pascoe, who died at Greymouth on Saturday last, was a sister of Mr Jonas Masters, of Stratford. Airs Pascoe was the widow of Mr R. Pascoe, who was killed in the Brunner explosion 20 years ago. There are four married children to mourn their loss, one son, George, being a resident of Now Plymouth. The death took place at Gordon Road, Toko, on Saturday of Mr William Hancox (better known as Harris) the adopted son of Air G. A. Harris, after a short severe illness. The deceased, who was well-known throughout the Stratford district, was buried to-day at the Kopuatama Cemetery. The sympathy of a wide circle of friends will be extended to the widow and children, and the Hlarris family in their bereavement.
