ROW AMONG SEAMEN.
SHOOTING AND STABBING. Per Press Association. Wellington, October 15. 1 A serious shooting and stabbing af fray took place on board the steamei Kajkoura, lying at the King's Wharf, late on Saturday night (about 10.lt p.m.) It is alleged that John Mar | shall and Reginald Pierre, two sea- , men belonging to the crew, came back i to the ship apparently the worse for liquor. They went forward to forecastle where another seaman (Gershoum Simmonds) was lying in his bunk, and a row coinmnced between the three men. It is alleged that during the disturbance Marshall ! drew a revolver and fired two or three shots, none of which, however, : took effect. Simmonds wrested the ' revolver from Marshall's hand, and further scuffling took place 'between the three men in the course of which it is stated that Simmonds produced a razor and used it on the other two. Both of the men were cut about a good deal. Marshall and Pierre were both taken to the hospital. Simmonds was arrested. Pierre, who is cut about the right arm and shoulder, is proprogressing favourably, but Marshall, | who had several bad, though not serj ions, gashes about the head and a big cut down through the abdomen, is not doing too well. All three men concerned are negroes and natives of the West Indies.
