NOTES ON A POSTCARD.

! (By a Stratford Girl.) Ono afternoon, when out shopping; In odds and onds quite small, I saw what buyers call a snip In a postcard-selling stall. So up I walked and picked some out Just one dozen in that haul, And I took them home .quite pleaset To send to my cousins all. Now Friend, read a little longer, As you've kindly read so far For 'twas in our town of Stratford! I found this great bargain, Ba—! At home again, those cards I viewed— Real gold-medal series sort— All ntimbered in the usual way And the very things I thought. But when I turned the other side, There to my full shame I see, Still blazoned on the stamping end, I Is "Printed in Germany !" ! I trace across another card | Words, "Publishers to the King," , But lo! along that very line. I see "Printed in Berlin !" Needless to say, those cards were back In the fastest time for sin!, And there I only hope they'll stop!— 1 was badly taken in. Two years and more is time too much To clear all the rubbish out, And that around with German brand Should not be allowed about.
