Mr and Mrs J. R. L. Stanford reached Stratford last night after their visit to Sydney.
Mr G. A. Marchant, of Cardiff, yesterday received a cable from .the < High Commissioner \ stating thaiJus son, Lieutenant 0. A. Marcnanfo ; who was in Egypt since; the early days of the war and then . went (to France, was an inmate of the Queen Alexandra Hospital, and was in excellent' spirits and doing well.
Lievitenant K. R. Watson, who died of wounds received in action, .vas at one time Assistant Engineer in the Public Works Department,- joining the Roads Department as cadet at New Plymouth. Lieutenant Watson, who was a' native of Nelson, was wounded at Gallipoli and then embarked for England; For a time before enlisting he was engaged in the Whangamomona district where he also had many friends.
