A communique states: Eastward ol the Struma there were engagements between the British and the leaiguard of, the Bulgarian army, the latter retreating towards the railway. Upwards of 1500 corpses were found at one point. . The Serbians progressed in the •hilly region of Dobropolje. In a fierce battle on the right bank of the Cerna they again defeated the Bulgarians, and captured the village of Stievcr. Further west they continue to cross the Cerna, between Dobboveni and the Brod, and the Bulgarians retreated northward of the Brod. . .
