HAWKE'S BAY MEETING. (By Cicero.) Good fields promise to face the starter in the various events to be decided at the Hawke's Bay meeting to-morrow. A notable feature about it this year is the defection of the time-honored event the Guinea*, which the Club have unwisely struck off the programme. Despite poor fields, which invariably contest this class of race, it is a most unwise act on the part of a Metropolitan body. It is also most unjust to the studmaster, who after nil is the one whom racing clubs should consider first. The following horses on recent form should command a following:—Tomoaria Hurdles, Bon Reve; Maiden, Idyllic and Multum; Glenaray Handicap, Multiplication; Flaxmere Hack, Honey Bee; Hastings Stakes, Estknd and Ormond's (Hymestra or Bagdad); Spring Handicap, Atuatora and Hyllus; Waipatu Hack, Wood Lark and Maraetotara; Final Handicap, Tino Atua and Marimba.

Two interesting items arc reported from Sydney (says the v Dominion sporting writer). One. is that H. Gray has' been refused a license by the Australian Jockey Club, and the other is that the crack horseman, Jos. Bike, has been outed for life in connection with his handling of Two Blues at a recent subuiban meeting.
