AMUSEMENTS.
FOLEY’S PICTURES. “JELFS.” There was a good house at His Majesty’s Theatre, the attraction being a strong melodramatic photoplay reminiscent of a Bland Holt production, entitled, “Jell's.” The film is a lengthy one, and introduces a vigorous and adventurous young Canadian, who, to his amazement, is brought to London to be the head of a great banking firm, because lie ‘s the last of the Jelfs, and at the head of Jelfs has always been a Jell. Rich - ard Jelfs goes boldly ahead in his new career with the free confidence that fascinated Londoners when they saw the “Anzacs.” He had to defeat the treachery of his financial and social or.emies, and the young banker proved that he had brains equal to his courage, as he carried tho bank successfully through times of crisis which pack the film with exciting incidents. An authentc moving picture of the last English Derby adds interest to the film. A good programme supports the star film, including the War Gazette, which is particularly interesting owing to tho inclusion of several scenes in and around Gallipoli, perhaps the best being a view of Sedd-ul-Bahr, the bay at Capo Hollies, where the British and “Anzacs” were disembarked. The programme will bo screened tonight for the last time. ,
