ALLEGED LACK OF MEN.
CFRMAN FRONTIER TRICKS. Press Association—Copyngnt. Reuter’s Telegrams (Received 8.50 a.m.) Amsterdam, October 4. The Germans have reduced the number of sentinels guarding the Dutch frontier from one in every hundred metres to one in every thousand. Also, with a view to frightening away would-be smugglers and deserters, the enemy made use of dummy soldiers, which were arranged fifty metres apart on portion of the front and disappeared at daybreak, while on one section of the frontier there hut cavalrymen only. These steps are believed to indicate that there is a great lack of men. n I'jjjiun - .. . pJT£"7T! ; 1 • ROYAL DECREE TO DEPUTIES. I" 'Q: i REJOIN ARMY IMMEDIATELY.
