EMPLOYERS FEDERATION.

THE ANNUAL REPORT. Per Press Association. Wellington, September 27. The annual meeting of the New Zealand Employers’ Federation was held to-day. The report stated: Owing to the necessities of the war having ■ fully occupied the attention of I ailiament, there has been no attempt to introduce labour legislation, noi ha\e there been any industrial disturbances of any magnitude. There have been no decreases in the number of disputes dealt with by the Conciliation Councils, and the Arbitration Court claims for th yar exceeded those of the 1914-15 period. The lead given by the Court regarding the war bonns having been followed by main employers, the indications are that during the continuance of the war they will be considerably fewer. The, Advisory Board met the Defence Department regarding the holding of Territorial camps, and after reviewing the whole position decided that it was inadvisable to raise any objection. The Department did everything possible to minimise the inconvenience to employers, and no complaints were received. Owing to the war, no organising work was undertaken, but after the war the need for combination will be more than ever apparent. Both here and in Australia there is a small but extremely dangerous number of men who are apparently determined to seize every opportunity as it offers to provide antagonism between employers and workers.
