LOCAL AND GENERAL.
There was a serious outbreak of fire in the Gas Company's warehouse, Clyde Quay, Wellington, last evening, but, fortunately, it was suppressed by the fire brigade before it could spread from the third floor. Considerable damage was done by fire and water. TliO contents were insured in the Royal office? for 1'11.950. The insurance on the buildings is not yet available.—Press Association.
