Cable Association, i (Received 10.0 a.m.) New York September 25. M. Shuvaff, Russian War Minister, in a special cable to the New York World, comments on the Roumanian position. He says that the Germans know quite well that Transylvania will be lost irreparably. | That has already been plainly determined by the occupation by the Roumanians o" the entire Alt Valley from Heirniannstad.t and Krcmstadt to Szerda and Chik. Germany has realised that the menace to the communication between Berlin and Constantinople is too great for her to resist. AUSTRIANS TAKEN IN THE REAR. i Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 11.20 a.m.) Amsterdam, September 25. The Roumanians continue . the struggle on Mount Calimana, advancing towards the Austrian trenches southwest of Dornavatra. The Austrians were taken in the rear and have been obliged to abandon the Carpathian passes. A report from Hungary received here states that the invading Roumanians repulsed the enemy almost as far as the old Roumanian frontier. The Bulgarian effort at Dobrudja has been broken and the arrival of Turkish reinforcements suggests that the enemy's reserves are exhausted.
