The inter-State Commerce Commission reports that the total railway earnings for the past fiscal year amounted to 11/0 millions ) representing a gain of 266 per cent, over the previous year. It is the first time the .earnings reached a billion. The railwaymen say they were justified in their recent threat to strike for higher wages.
BOMB IN NEW YORK SUBWAY.
I'resg Association—Copyright, Australia® and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received 8.50 a.in.) New York, September 13. A dynamite bomb which was found in a New York subway was, it is believed, placed there by the strikers’ orders to frighten passengers. The police precautions have been redoubled.
