SCHOOLS ASSOCIATION.

STRATFORD BRANCH. A meeting of the Stratford district branch of the Taranaki Schools Association was hold on Tuesday, Mr J. \V. McMillan being in the chair. Others present were—Messrs F. .). McDonald, G. Smart, C. H. Lawn (representing Stratford), E. Hancock (Cardiff), J. Roof (Hurimoana), Neil Brown (Tnkenahu), J. H. Kirlcby (Tuna),, 1). M. Piteaithly (Pohokura), T. A. Bocock (Raupuba), with t'ho and T. A. Bocock (Ranpuha), hoii. sec. The Chairman reported that the draft rules of this branch had been submitted to the executive at New Plj mouth, and these had been approved. Some discussion ensued on the rules, and it was agreed that the first Tuesday in each month was the most convenient day for the meeting of this Association. Subject to a few minor alterations, the rules, as submitted, ivere agreed to, and it was resolved that these be printed and circulated to I lie several school committees. A letter was read From Mr J. W. Rogers, secretary to the Cardiff School Committee, stating that his committee had resolved to affiliate with the Association, and had appointed Mr E. W. Hancock to represent them. It should be mentioned that already ten schools have affiliated, and it is believed that the interest shown in the Association will produce a largo membership. The Chairman, in thanking the members lor their attendance, expressed bis acknowledgment of the honor of being appointed their president. He felt sure that all schools would benefit by being members of the Association, and more particularly the schools in the country districts. Any matters submitted.to the Association would have every attention. It was particularly in the interests of country schools that they should do their best to support the Association.
