NEWTON KING’S REPORT. REPORT. For my Hiaymarket sale on Saturday last, pigs were penned over the advertised number. There was a good demand for all classes at advertised prices. I quote:—AVeaners 8s to LI 2s, small stores £1 3s 6d to £1 6s, medium stores £1 8s to £1 13s 6d, good stores up to £2, sows £2 to £3, calves from 2s to 14s, set harness £4 15s, sundries at usual rates.
LAMASON’S WEEKLY REPORT. Last Saturday my usual weekly sale was very successful. Poultry and vegetables are in keen demand and prices are very satisfactory indeed. I quote as follows; Hens 2s to 4s del, ducks 2s 6d to 4s 3d, roosters 2s 6d to os, cauliflower 4s 6d doz, pumpkin -Is 6d to os 6d per sack, wheat os 9d (6s bushel), a quantity of corrugated iron and large quantity of furniture was also quitted at very satisfactory prices. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. Ltd., Stratford, lias received the following cable from their London branch:—At the wool sales there is good demand, as compared with July 28. Merino line crossbred are unchanged; greasy medium, coarse, 5 per cent, higher; slinc scoured very firm.
