ST A N FO R D —A B R A H A M. A quiet wedding took place at All |.Saints’ Church, Palmerston North, on i Wednesday afternoon, when Mr J. it. L. Stanford, a member of the legal firm of Spence and Stanford, Stratford, and son of the late Mr 11. L. Stanford, S.M., of Wanganui, was married to Miss Sylvia Abraham, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs It. S. Abraham, of Palmerston North. The .vicar, the Rev. H. (J. Blackbnrne, M. was the officiating clergyman. The, bride,, \\ ho was,.given away by her ,father,; was charmingly attired in a Igmvn of white uinon over shell pink taffeta with tulle veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful shower bouquet of white froesias and pale pink carnations. The bridesmaids were Misses Dorothy Abraham (sis'ter of the bride), and Madge Tweed and Nora Brandon, each being attired in pale pink uinon over pink taffeta and wearing blade tulle lulls with pink roses. The bridesmaids carried pretty bouquets of pale pink camelias. The bridegroom was attend* d by Mr H. Spence, who is a member of the 17th Reinforcements, as best man. At the conclusion of the ceremony, a small reception wad held at the residence of the bride’s parents, Tiritea. Subsequently Air ami Mrs Stanford left on their honeymoon, which is to he spent m Australia. Airs Stanlord’s travelling dress was a navy blue emit and skirt, with slinall dark blue uinon and taffeta hat, embroidered in pink roses, slip wearing a musquash I'm coat, the gift of the bridegroom, Mr and Airs Stanford will have the good wishes ol a circle of friends in Maaawalu and Taranaki for their future happiness. .—“Manawatn Standard.”
