THE WAR LOAN.
£10,250,000 SUBSCRIBED TO DATE. 1 I “In round figures,” stated Colonel Campbell (Secretary to the Treasury) to a N.Z. Tunes representative on Monday, “ten and a quarter millions have been subscribed to the war loan up to date. Of this amount £700,000 is in war loan certificates, and the balance is in war donds. So far as the main loan itself is concerned, of course it is really a very good response, and better than was anticipated. Moneys in small amounts are still coming in in connection with the postal service; and, as already announced, the war loan certificates will be obtainable to the end of the year.” SATURDAY TAKINGS. At Wellington 292 certificates at £lO were sold, and 81 at £1; at Christichurch 335 at £lO and 40 at £1; at Auckland 22 at £lO and 15 at £1; at Dunedin 118 at £lO and 47 at £1; and at Tinnru 231 at £lO and 05 at £l.
