"THE GOLDEN CLAW."
A woman, having tasted of the sweets of life and stopped in her headlong career at the brink of a moral precipice from which she cannot turn hack, makes a striking figure ]in "The Golden Claw," a six-act j drama screened at His Majesty's ilast night to a good audience. Lillian 'iiloiifcressor, the girl, had extravagant tastes, and she sold herself in marriage to the man who'had the wealth to gratify her social ambitions. He had broken his part of the compact, that hideous compact that made mockery of their altar vows. Hestarted life afresh, and again he Avon his way to a position which rendered possible his wifes butterfly social activities. Fifty thousand dollars was the cost. But it meant to the man endless scheming, planning, plotting; long hours of sleepless nights. He had become a money-making machine, and the woman spent as fast as he could make. The supporting films included "The War Gazette," "Climbing the Jungfrau," a. ' an exceptionally good comedy entit...d "The Carpenter's Dilemma." The orchestral accompaniments to the pictures were much appreciated.
