MILITARY SERVICE ACT, 1916. ENROLMENT OF EXPEDITIONARY FORCE RESERVE. By Proclamations dated repsectively Ist and 2nd September, 1916, the enrolment of the Reserve is directed. Enrolment must be made not later than 15th September (First Division), or 10th September (Second Division). < The Reserve consists of men not less than 20 and under 46 years of age. The Reserve Register is based on the National Register. Men not already registered must supply enrolment-Cards not later than IGth September.'* Men already registered need not supply an enrolment-card, but must, not later tlian loth September, notify present address it place of abode has changed since registration. Men reaching military age} or arriving in Dominion after 16th September, must supply enrol-ment-cards within fourteen days thereafter. Changes of abode after enrolment must be notified within fourteen days. The Act makes the reservist's obligation to do any of the abo vo things a pemnal one, and ho is not relieved by information previously given to recruiting officer or committee. Men iiis enrolled may be sent .straight to camp. Men who fail to notify change of address may become liable on a charge of desertion. Employers of Reservists not enrolled, or of deserters, are liable to heavy lines or imprisonment. For protection of Reservists certificates of enrolment will bo issued as soon as practicable after receipt of application on form provided.
