In a minor night enterprise we frustrated attempts at Guillemont and raided trenches at Neuville and St. Vaast. A German communique states: The I enemy at night attacked Ovillers and | Pozieres. Between Guillemont and Maurepas, south of the Somme, we prepared a storming attack, but were held down in the ’trenches. We repulsed the English north of Ovillers and Pozieres.
