INFECTIOUS DISEASES. EXPOSING INFECTED CLOTHES. Feb »'"««» axwocuTWN ' Christ-church, August 23. j In connection with the scarlet lever epidemic, the Health Department brought several charges agninst persons who had boon in contact with sufferers; charging them with failing! to notify the Department and with exposing infected clothes. Counsel for the Department said the cases were brought for the purpose o 1 drawing public attention to the re oidafiohs regarding infectious dis eases: Small penalties were inflicted by the Magistrate. One ease, that o G. T. Cootb, who had been in hi daughter's room, but not in contact with tlie patient, led to much argv ment as to whether the doctor in : sick room could not be equally charge with exposing infected clothes. Co. r sel for the Department asked for an adjournment to bring evidence to support Dr. Duncan's statements to infection carrying, but the Magistrate dismissed the charge.
