20th REINFORCEMENTS. The Stratford members of the 20th Reinforcements, to the number of eleven, left for camp by the mail train this morning. Despite the inclemency of the weather, a large number of residents assembled on the station platform to bid farewell to the men. On behalf of the Ladies’ Patriotic Committee, Mesdames Boon and Good presented each man with a holdall and housewife. . The Rev. 11. R. Tinsley delivered a short farewell address to the men. On behalf of the citizens of Stratford and district, he did not wish them I good bye, as ho hoped to see them again, and he hoped they would be I amongst the number who returned 1 after the war. In conclusion, he I wished the men God speed, a rattling good time, and a safe return. Cheers. 1 The Mayor Mr J. W. Boon), m tin* (’course of his remarks, complimented the men. In response to tin* Mayor s icmarks, three hearty cheers were given ior 'the departing men.
