IN THE MATTER OF “THE MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS ACT, I'JOB’’•AND THE AMENDMENTS THEREOF, AND OF “THE LOCAL BODIES’ LOANS ACT, 1913.” PROPOSED STRATFORD BOROUGH ELECTRIC LIGHTING LOAN I OF £IO,OOO. riTHE STRATFORD BOROUGH j COUNCIL hereby gives public notice that it proposes to borrow by 1 way of Special Loan, under the projvisions of “The Local Bodies Loans. I Act, 1913,” the sum of Sixteen Thousand Pounds (£16,000). j The particular purposes for which the loan is required, and the sum proposed to be borrowed for each such purpose are as follows: (a) For the purpose of lighting the streets and public places of the Borough of Stratford, and supplying electricity to the inhabitants thereof, to acquire by purchase the whole of the business and undertaking of the Stratford Electrical Supply Company Limited, and the entire goodwill thereof, and all the freehold and leasehold lands, corporeal and incorporeal rights, easements and appurtenances, buildings, engines, machinery, poles, lines, plant, stock-in-trade, materials and other property of the said Company (excepting moneys, securities and book debts). £15,600. (b) To purchase or otherwise acquire all such other freehold or leasehold lands, rights, easements, property, machinery, plant, and materials, and to erect all such further buildings and other erections as the Council may consider necessary for the purpose of lighting the streets and public places of the Borough with electricity and supplying electricity to the in-j habitants thereof j £lOOl Total £16,000 The Council proposes to pledge as] security for the said Loan of £16,0001 and the interest and sinking fund j thereon, an annually recurring*Special] Rate of one penny and one farthing] I (fJ d) in the £ on the unimproved [ valued of all rateable property with- ] [in the said Borough of Stratford dur-i | ing the currency of such Loan, .such I [Special Rato to be payable half yearly ou the First day of April and the Hirst, day of October in each and every year during the currency of smeh Loan, being a period of Thirty-! six years, or until the said Loan is) fully paid off. i It is proposed that such Loan shall be for a period of Thirty-six years from the Ist day of October, 1916, at five pounds five shillings £5 ss) per, centum per annum interest, with the addition of a Sinking Fund of One pound (£1) per centum per annum, and the whole of the Loan is to be repayable on the Ist day of October, 1952, by means of the Sinking Fund and otherwise.

It is proposed to pay out of the Loan the cost of raising the Loan, and all preliminary expenses in connection with the scheme for which the Loan is proposed to bo raised; hut it is not proposed to pay out of the Loan the first year’s interest and sinking fund of the Loan during the ' construction of the said works, j Dated at Stratford this 26th day of !
