An' East African official report states: Since their defeat on June 21, the enemy have occupied strong oosilions in the densely wooded Nouhu mountains. General Enslin, in a wide enveloping movement traversed the centre of the Nouhu mountains. After an arduous fifty miles march through rjbugh forest, ho., emerged on August |th on a spot overlooking- the Ob},bnga Valley., Meanwhile Generals Hokihns, Sheppard and Brits entered the Ohjonga ‘ Valley. Stubborn actions developed m the IHh. Tlie enemy’s resistance was broken on the 11th at Montamonda, where they were pursued down the valley. General van der Venter, further west, encountered the enemy in a strong position in a defile ten miles West of Apaua. After an all night fight he drove the enemy on to Apaua, inflicting severe losses. Simultaneously our coiunln swept southwards between Ngur j and the coast, disposing of scattered parties if* the north. We are now approachirijg Iriuga, on Lake Tangayika. Rhodesian forces have; occupied the island of: Kirando, and the Belgians have occupied Karema, fifty miles north of Kirando. Tlie Belgians, south of Lake Victoria, are closely pressings the enemy.
