A London cable reports that Mr Claude Asquith, son of the British Prime Minister, is a prisoner in Germany. Mr W. H. Hagger, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories, has been appointed to succeed Mr P. dally as Conciliation Commissioner, and will be stationed in Wellington. Mr J. H.Qrnlliam, of New Plymouth, has received cable advie'e that his eldest son, Lance-Corporal Reg. Quilliam, had been killed in action on August 3.
