MR SMITH NATIONAL CANDIDATE. Per Press Association. Pahiatua, August 8. A communication, signed by Mr Massey and Sh Joseph Ward, points out that under the coalition arrangement Mr G. Harold Smith, Pahiatua, has come forward for the by-election as a supporter of the National Government, ami iu compliance ,"ith the understanding with electors when rhft Government was formed, they strongly recommend Mr Smith for the support of the electors.
