I ELDERLY LADY PASSENGER INJURED. | Wellington, August 3. 1 Tho Railway Department advises that the 6.40 a.m. train from Paekajkariki to Palmerston encountered a !' terrific gale at Makerua, near Shannon, at 9.30 o'clock. All the carriages were blown off the line, hut the engine did not leave the ' rails. j An elderly lady passenger was injured. Particulars of the accident are meagre. Telegraphic and telephonic communication is interrupted.
