Enthusiasm over the Russian victories is causing the interventionists to hold a campaign of colossal proportions. A number of Romanians have gone to Bulgaria to communicate the Russian bulletins to the people, as the Bulgarian Government prohibits even Austro-German communiques which mention retreats. One hundred thousand paraded the streets of Bucharest in favor of intervention. Similar demonstrations were made in other towns.

BULGARIANS FAIL TO EJECT SERBIANS. Rome, August 3. A message from Salonika states that the Bulgarians have abandoned their attempts to drive the Serbians out of their new positions, and have withdrawn to a new line.
