"The question to which the hon. member refers will lie considered," was the reply made by the Prime Minister in the House on Wednesday to Mr R. W. Smith (Waimarino) as to whether he will take the necessary action to ensure that upon the next occas-ion on which a local option poll is taken, instead of the present form of ballot-paper, which provides for only two issuos-namely, local prohibition and Dominion prohibition—a new form of ballot-paper he used, which will give the electors an opportunity of more accurately and definitely expressing their desires upon the several important phases of the liquor question. "Lost in.the snow" was a purse containing two pounds in notes and five shillings in silvo-.v and the lady who was the unfortunate victim heaved a sigh as she p:iid for the advertisement, looking up >n the quest as a forlorn hop?. But her luck was in, as a very wet ;:urse, containing two soaked pound notes and the silver bright and cheery, was handed over the counter this morning, having been found by another young lady, who was promptly paid the dollar reward.
