Mr Stanley Washburn, writing from Dvihno, says it is significant that German battalions have begun to rapidly disappear from the Austrian front. The Germans have probably abandoned any further intention of risking their remaining strength in support of a collapsing ally.

Mr Washburn mentions that General- Sakharoff is using captured Austrian lOin. guns against the Germans. The Russian operations are most perfectly planned, and the time-table is exactly observed.
