SIGNS OF THE TIMES. CHANCED TONE OF PUBLIC OPINION. Press Association —Copyright. United Service. - (Received 11.30 a.m.) London, July 27.
The changed tone of prominent Germans regarding the aims of the wai is growingly evident. The latest example is provided by Herr \on Zedlitz, Independent Conservative leader, who advises the industral and commercial associations to revise their annexation ideas and make their./ demands correspond with the present war situation.
A further significant fact is that pro-war Socialist leaders, including Herr Scheidaman, receive a most hostile reception at Frankfurt. The Berliner Tageblatt states that the* German Federal Government is considering the creation ol a central office to procure raw materials and deal with the question of tonnage and the monetary standard immediately after the war.
