Mr Washburn, correspondent of the Daily Chronicle, writing from tho tsputh-west front on the 24th says: Despite the rain and heavy roads, the operations at Lutsk and Brody commencing on the 21st, resulted in advances being made everywhere. The operations south-west of Lutsk wreck"ed the carefully-prepared Auslro-Ger-mau plans for attacking in the region of Michailsvka, forcing the enemy back eight miles. We captured 15,000 prisoners and 100,000 shells. The Russians captured 30,000 prisoners and forty guns in eight days.
