Every dairyman in the country will welcome the advent of an effij' cient agitator for his milk stand, ,esj, pecially" when with this is combined cheapness and simplicity. Mr J. O’Connor, of Makahn, is in .receipt of confirmation from the Registrar of Patents, Wellington, that protection has been granted over his invention for “improvements in milk agitating means.” The general principle is the use of water power and plungers. On every farm water may be found, even in small quantity, and for this reason, Mr O’Connor claims his invention .is within the reach of dairyman. At present, it is in practical use and those who have seen it in working order are loud in their praises of its effectiveness in agitating the night’s* milk. Ajpiinimum of water is required to work a small water wheel, which in this case, is situated a distance of about five chains from the milk stand, and with which it is connected by ordinary fencing wire to operate tlie plungers. Over all other agitators, Mr O’Connor says. his. invention has the advantage' that there is no limit to the distance a|C which the water supply may be used on any farm. Letters Patent are being applied for.
