A German communique slates: The Anglo-French resolute attack on the Pozieres-Mamepau front broke down. The French in a strong force, in storming the Estrees-Soyecourt secW, temporarily gained grotind south Of Estrees; otherwise, the attack nas ‘dispersed with most sanguinary enemy losses. The enemy’s several attempts on the recaptured positions at- Froide terre ridge were repulsed.
