The Faukfurter Zeitung quoteg the technical weekly journal, “Prometheus,” as an authority for the statement that two of the foremost naval Powers are building 5000-ton suhnia-rine-cruisors which are 400 feet long. These are protected and armed like medium cruisers, with' 18,000 horsepower engines and capable of a speed of twenty-six knots on the surface and sixteen submerged. They have an effective radius of 18,000 to 20,000 sea miles, without replenishing fuel. The vessels will have thirty torpedo tubes, two reserve torpedoes, and each will have several anti-aircralt guns and a mine-laying appaiatus for laying 150 mines.
