LORD LANSDOWNE'S LETTER. Press Association—Copyright, Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, London, July 14. Lord Lansdowne, in a letter to tire newspapers, says; My statement regarding the permanent character of certain provisions of the Amending Bill was not intended to go beyond the Prime Minister’s declaration made in the House of Commons on July 10, that the union of the six counties with the rest of Ireland could not be brought about without the freewill and consent of the excluded areas.
