PERSONAL.
Mrs. E>. Griffon, relict of the late Thomas Griffon, of New Plymouth, dic'd last week at Matahiwi, f near Masterton. The deceased was 91 years of age, and had resided for forty years in New Zealand, the last six of which had been spent in Masterton. She leaves two sons Me-srs. W. Griffon, Hukanui, and J. Gr ffen, Palmerston,, and one daughter, Mrs. George Clifford, Matahiwi.
Lieutenant K. Munro, reported killed in action, was the son of Mr J. Munro, who wts for some years the manager of the Bank of New South Wales at Stratford, .and now stationed at Hastings. The late Lieutenant Munro was on the staff of the late Lieut.-Colonel MM,me of this town, and was a most enthusiastic and popular volunteer. Very Jeep regret Will be felt on all sides that he lias fallen in his Country’s service.
