Tlie Wanganui Chamber of Commerce are calling a conference of representatives of local bodies between Ohakime and Wanganui, also Parliamentary representatives in the area affected, to discuss the possibility of building a railway line between Kaetihi and Wanganui. This is a sequel to the intimation of the Minister <>t .Railways that a trial survey route could not be carried out owing to the number of surveyors who had enlisted. The conference will discuss the question bf ? 'building a railway under the provisions of the Local Railways Act in the event of the Government not being prepared to , cany out the work. .
