ALLEGED CATTLE STEALING.
ACCUSED COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Per Press Association. Taumaninui, June 29. James Biims, o£ Matiore, was .charged at' Taumaranui to-day with cattle-stealing. Sergeant Miller prosecuted and Mr Finlay defended. Evidence was given that two stems owned by A. S. Baker, of Matiere, were stolen and the earmarks tampered with. Accused pleaded not guilty and reserved his defence. He was committed for trial to Hamilton, bail being fixed at £2OO. John Kellv, senior, wasi charged with aiding and abetting, but the ease, was withdrawn on the application of the police.' ______
