OLD PEOPLE’S HOME DESTROYED Feb rsua JiSOOUTIOW. Nelson, June 29, The Alexandra Home for aged people, situated in Waimea Road,- was totally destroyed by fire at 10 o’clock to-night. The. inmates, numbering 377 of both sexes, were removed safely and accommodated at the hospital and in private houses for the night. The Home was the property of the Nelson Charitable Aid Board. Insurances on the building total £2OOO in the Norwich Union and £2OOO in the Royal.
