The Karu is expected to leave Wellington to-morrow for New Plymouth, and will leave again on Friday. The Barawa arrived yesterday morning with C2 tons of general cargo, inchiding 28 tons of sugar, and 3 tons of cement. She left again in the evening for Onehunga. I The coastal steamer Tainui yesterday loaded over 2000 boxes of butter and !a quantity of tallow for transhipment at Wellington for Sydney. It is a sign of the times when a vessel of this class has to be engaged to take refrigerated produce. The Wallsend, which is bringing a cargo of fertilisers to New Plymouth, is to call at Westport first to load bunker coal. After discharging her New Plymouth cargo, Che vessel will proceed to the Waikato river to load timber for Australia. | The Waimea is due this week from Westport with a load of coal.
