SERIOUS RIOTS IN LEIPZIG. MARTIAL LAW PROCLAIMED. RAIDS ON PROVISION SHOPS. (Received 1.40 p.m.) Berne, June 27. Serious rioting occurred at Leipzig last week-end. Eight hundred shops, chiefly bakers, butchers, and provision dealers, were pillaged. Czech soldiers brought from Austria fired on the crowd. Martial law was proclaimed in Leipzig and in the Duchy of Brunswick. The hitter's soldiers were not permitted to return home lest they would be infected by the popular discontent.
