ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the Stratford \'j ,\,..% Clu!j was held in Smith's rooms last night when the president (Mr J. McMillan) presided over a large attendance of members.

The President, in moving the adoption of the report and' balance-sheet, congratulated the Club on the largo attendance at the meeting which, he said, augured Well for thte success of the next season. ■ An outstanding feature was the low cost of upkeep, which reflected great, credit on jthe green warden and *the caretaker. The Club had had a' Very successful year and everything had worked v#ry harmoniously on the grain and g*nerallv, wherever bowlers met. ANNUAL REPORT. The annual report was as follows: —ln submitting the balance-shees for the season 1915-16, your committee have pleasure in "reporting one of the most successful seasons of the Club. S Mr T. H. Penn's resignation was, accepted with great regret and tte members decided to place on recMd appreciation of past services to *e Club, and the hope that whenKSlo Empire's wars were over he would again have time to partake in a game. Mr H. LI.- Bott's resignation "iras accepted with regret, and Mr W. H. Reeve's resignation was also accepted.

| A discussiou ensued on the matter of the selection committee and it was ultimately decided to form a committee of three members. Mr North was elect-ed to rcpreseut the Saturday

players. Th delegates to the Centre were again recommended •to support a Soldiers' Fund for the season. A longthly discussion ensued regarding the rules for the championship matches and after many attempts to improve them, the original rules were left unaltered.

A special vote of thanks was passed congratulating Mr Edgecombe (green warden) on the state of the green, and Mr Porritt for hiß duties as secretary during the year. A vote of thanks was passed to the officerbearerß for the past year and to the proas for reporting tho howling news.
